Bicknell RE98 |
The Bicknell RE98 This car is a piece of history it was built by Robert Bicknell in 1998 for the two litre sports car racing and was so successful he won the Richard Mallock award for the best constructor of the year it was so quick it beat cars like Lola Mallock and anything else that got in its way. It has an excellent racing history and was raced in Ve de Ve and Super Sports. We have documented evidence of its proven success. When purchased from Rob the car had been prepared regardless of cost for its next seasons racing which was cancelled therefore there had been no more racing for the car until John bought it. In 2009 a new series was created by the BRSCC and Race TV called the Open Sports car Series or OSS, the idea came from Alan Jenkins for affordable racing for open sports cars. In July 2009 John won two third place trophies at Rockingham . In October John won the Archie Scott Brown trophy for third place in the last race of the season at Snetterton. This is quite an acomplishment when you consider John is 66 years old!! The car is all complete and ready to race: - It is fitted with a two litre carburettor'd Vauxhall engine and a Hewland 5 speed trans axle gearbox including all gear ratio’s and data charts for setting up at different race circuits. Spares include: - limited slip differential Gear ratio’s Various suspension parts & jigs Full set of Body Moulds including splitters and aerodynamic parts i.e. wings etc Spare wheels and tyres Brake pads All drawings and valuable recorded information to run the car competitively. Offers invited around £35,000 (which is only a fraction of the cost to build this car) Email John for further details |
